Cubs Opener Today
The Cubs opener is today at 3:05 against Oakland. Very exciting, however I wont be providing recaps of spring training games just regular season games. Go Cubs!
Bulls 83 Bucks 75
The Bulls defeated the Bucks at the Bradley Center last night in a good and entertaining game. The Bulls struggled in the first half, but picked it up in the 2nd half, with them pulling away in the third quarter. Luol Deng (19), Derrick Rose (17), Carlos Boozer (13), and Kyle Korver (11)all scored in double digits for the Bulls, who need just four more wins to become the first team in NBA history to win every game against their division in a single season. Joakim Noah anchored the Bulls with 17 rebounds, including nine offensive boards. Its safe to say, that he was a beast on the boards again. Solid bench production also helped the Bulls to win. For the losing Bucks, Luc Richard Mbah A Moute and Andrew Bogut were their only real highlights. Andrew Bogut had 16 rebounds while Mbah A Moute tacked on 16 points. All in All, this was not the Bulls best game they played, but they successfully won another trap game, and inched closer to the Celtics and Heat atop the East.
Bulls Player of the game: Luol Deng 19 pts, 5 reb, 3 ast, 1 blk
Bucks Player of the game: Andrew Bogut 6 pts, 16 reb, 2 ast, 1 blk

Sorry for Delays-Cubs and Bulls Rumors
Sorry for the dealays everyone, new Cubs rumors include that they are considering Jermaine Dye, Xavier Nady and Reed Johnson for there fourth outfielder job. I would prefer Dye because of his power. I would also like for Reed to return. The Bulls have been mentioned to be intersted in pretty much every single big name free agent. Derrick Rose, and that they are a small market team are the two big reasons why a superstar would want to come to Chicago. The latest rumor said that if the Bulls could trade Thomas, Hinrich, and Jerome James (Portland's interested) that they would free up money and they could afford Lebron and Chris Bosh. I think in the end the Bulls will wind up with Chris Bosh and I will be content with that. Bosh and Noah would be a great backcourt. That's all for now. Go Cubs and Bulls!

Cubs Dangling Guzman?
Bruce Levine of ESPN Chicago reports at the GM meetings that the Cubs are dangling Angel Guzman for a setup man or a fourth outfielder. The Cubs are reportedly concerned about Angel's arm. I personally think Guzman is a very good pitcher and is worth more than just a fourth outfielder. If they trade him for a setup man I think it should be for one that is above average, like Jason Frasor. Levine is also reporting that former White Sox outfielder Jason Bourgoeis is poised to sign with the Cubs after being designated for assignment by the Astros.

Bulls 110 Timberwolves 96
The Bulls snapped a three game skid by defeating the Minnesota Timberwolves yesterday. Joakim Noah keyed the Bulls in this one with 20 points and 9 rebounds. Ironically the Bulls top two scorers, Derrick Rose and Luol Deng, each scored only eight points. The Timberwolves were once again led by Al Jefferson, Jonny Flynn, and Kevin Love. Although this was a fairly easy win, the Bulls gain momentum heading into there next couple games after winning this one. Hopefully they will go on a nice little win streak. Go Bulls!

Bosh to Bulls

Betfirms.com reports that the Bulls and Raptors are in trade talks involving Chris Bosh. The trade would be Chris Bosh for Kirk Hinrich, Tyrus Thomas, and an undisclosed draft pick. This is one great trade for the Bulls and I hope it happens, although it seems unlikely right now. Lets hope this is true and Go Bulls!
Bryan LaHair agrees to minor league deal with Cubs

Today the Cubs and Bryan Lahair agreed to a minor league deal with an invite to spring training. LaHair plays first base and I don't see this being any kind of big move for the Cubs. He will have a spot on the 40 man roster which means the Cubs only have 1 spot left. Lahair has hit .284 lifetime in Triple A so he will likely get a chance to come off the bench as a backup to Lee.

Bulls 93 Bucks 96

The end to the Bulls game was a dissapointing one as the Bucks came out on top. Andrew Bogut and Michael Redd lit up the scoreboard for Milwaukee with 27 and 24 respectively while Derrick Rose and Joakim Noah had big nights for the Bulls. The Bulls were down big at the end of the first quarter but battled there way back to be down 2 at halftime and be tied at the end of the third quarter. Brandon Jennings had a rough night for Milwaukee managing just 5 points. Taj Gibson was the only starter not in double figures for Chicago. I see the play of this game being Luke Ridnour's 40 foot buzzer beater, and the game would be completely different if he hadn't made it. GO BULLS!

Branyan Idea

This is a good idea in my mind. The Cubs should go after Free Agent Russell Branyan who could be very cheap and doesn't seem to have very many teams interested in him. Branyan put up great power numbers last year, and if they sign him it would spell the end of Derrek Lee after this season. I think Hendry should show some interest in Branyan and get him out on the field because this guy has potential! Remember this is just an idea.
Butler to Bulls?

There have been rumors going around that Caron Butler could be either shipped to the Bulls or Heat. The deal would send Kirk Hinrich, and Jerome James to Washington and Caron Butler, and the expiring contract of Mike James to the Bulls. I think this is a very good trade for the Bulls because Butler and Hinrich have similar contracts and Caron has all around better stats for a struggling, and disapointing Wizards squad.
Should the Bulls fire Del Negro?
Cubs Interested in Ben Sheets?

There have been ongoing rumors during the offseason that the Cubs have had interest in Ben Sheets as there 5th starter. Those rumors gained a bit more steam when Ken Rosenthal made a prediction that Ben Sheets would land with the Cubs. This comes as a bit of a suprise to me considering I don't see the need for Sheets, because the Cubs already have Marshall, Gorzelanny, Samardzjia, and Silva. I would welcome Sheets as he is great when he is healthy, but is also very injury prone and I wouldn't want the Cubs to over pay him. I believe if they do sign him it wouldn't be until around Spring Training.
